Description
The subject evokes the general principles of international humanitarian law. Without pretensions to teaching, this document is intended to raise awareness, both among a broad audience and more specific audiences, such as the armed forces, governments, and National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The images are taken from recent and older archives, often not International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and also from shots filmed especially in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. Often harsh and painful, they show the reality of conflicts between men while humanitarian law everywhere requires respect for non-combatants and restraint in violence. (Abstract by IRC; translated from French using Google Translate).
