Description
The presentation will provide an overview of the hedge fund and private equity fund industries, along with the regulations that govern those funds and their managers. The presentation will focus in particular on the fiduciary duty of the manager and how that duty manifests itself in the day-to-day conflict of interest issues that arise when managing funds.
Nora Jordan retired as a partner at Davis Polk on December 31, 2020 after 37 years at the firm and after heading the Firm’s Investment Management practice for over 20 years. Nora’s practice focused on advising hedge funds, mutual funds, private equity funds, and the managers and directors who oversee them. She worked on numerous internal and SEC investigations involving asset managers, as well as acquisitions, reorganizations and restructurings of asset managers. She served on numerous Davis Polk committees, including the Compensation and Recruiting Committees. She is now Senior Counsel to the Firm.
She is an independent director on the board of a Fortune 500 public company where she serves on the Audit Committee and the Nominating and Governance Committee
Nora is the vice chair of the board of the American Skin Association and serves on the advisory board of the Global Financial Markets Center at Duke Law School. She is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
