Abstract
This article considers neckties in baseball (and elsewhere too). For baseball it focuses on the sartorial habits of Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, and Bill Veeck (with references to the dugout attire of Connie Mack and Burt Shotton). But it also has things to say about the dress of Charles de Gaulle, Richard Nixon, and J. Robert Oppenheimer.
