Abstract

Since November 2013, Case Western Reserve University School of Law has had co-Interim Deans. In this article, Jessica Berg and Michael Scharf provide a first-hand account of how they managed a co-dean model at a unique moment in the life of their law school. The article draws on studies about co-CEOs, describes Berg's and Scharf's approach and experiences, and offers lessons for those considering a dual leadership structure at other law schools and institutions.
