Sentencing Consistency: The Linchpin of Ohio’s Sentencing Reform
Abstract
Ohio's felony sentencing reform is based on judicial discretion over sentencing guidelines, but requires Sentencing consistency. In the absence of a statewide database, judges are bewildered as to how to achieve consistency. Using benchmark cases is one solution offered.
